TTR at Inferno 2026

First year with new storyline. After playing for The Bear Tribe for 7-8 years, it was time for a fresh start.

This year I was John Tanner, Commander for Black Rift Security [BRS]. I led a small faction compared to the other PMC factions and had to navigate the field with diplomacy, speed, and stealth. Underneath is my report.

Subject: Mission Status Report — Zone Operations

1. Executive Summary
Primary mission objectives were executed with acceptable operational efficiency. BRS field elements fulfilled the majority of assigned objectives while maintaining low exposure, high mobility, and controlled engagement parameters.
Where possible, units avoided direct confrontation and selected extended approach routes to preserve combat capability, reduce unnecessary signature, and maintain tactical initiative. This decision produced positive operational results and limited escalation with rival military actors.
BRS remains positioned as a disciplined, adaptable, and deniable asset inside the Zone.

2. Operational Conduct
BRS units operated in accordance with current combat directives and field guidelines. Engagements were limited to mission-relevant activity, with priority given to speed, stealth, artifact acquisition, node control, and influence preservation.
Field command assesses that the current doctrine remains effective:
Avoid unnecessary attrition.
Maintain initiative through movement and misdirection.
Secure assets before rivals identify their strategic value.
Control perception among civilians and competing factions.
Preserve long-term freedom of action.
The field detachment showed initiative, restraint, and operational focus under unstable conditions.

3. Faction Relations
Relations with Grey Dynamics remain stable. BRS maintained neutral-to-positive contact and avoided unnecessary escalation.
Relations with Cerberus Operations remain neutral. No decisive deterioration was recorded during the current mission cycle.
Outer Perimeter Control remains a useful allied contact. Further diplomatic and contractual consolidation is recommended. Their position and local utility make them valuable for continued operational depth.
Current recommendation: preserve neutrality where useful, strengthen alliances where profitable, and avoid open conflict unless strategic necessity demands it.

4. Artifact Recovery
Artifact retrieval operations were successful. The process has been improved through field experience, and recovery protocols should be considered more reliable for future deployments.
Recovered assets are to be transferred through secured channels for analysis, classification, and further exploitation by authorized corporate handlers.
Given BRS’ strategic objective of securing anomalous artifacts for advanced psychological warfare, neuro-technological research, and infrastructure influence, artifact acquisition remains the highest-value operational priority.

5. Node Activity
Nodes were located, secured, and protected. Field teams demonstrated effective response capability once node positions were identified.
Recommendation for future missions: assign dedicated rapid-response elements to node defense and establish pre-planned fallback routes. Node control should be treated as both a tactical and psychological asset.

6. Civilian Interface
Local missions produced measurable benefit in civilian relations. Assistance to civilians improved BRS’ local standing and reduced friction in the operational environment.
Continued support to civilian actors is recommended when it serves one or more of the following:
Access to information.
Local compliance.
Reputation management.
Operational concealment.
Denial of influence to rival factions.
BRS should continue limited hearts-and-minds operations, provided they remain subordinate to primary mission objectives.

7. Personnel Assessment
The men demonstrated initiative, discipline, and combat readiness. Morale remains high. Unit cohesion was maintained despite operational pressure and uncertain field conditions.
Field command assesses the detachment as fit for renewed deployment.
The unit remains eager to prove itself again in the Zone and stands ready for further destruction, denial, and recovery operations.

8. Commander’s Assessment
BRS achieved the majority of its assigned goals. The operation confirmed that current doctrine is sound: stealth, speed, controlled aggression, psychological pressure, and selective cooperation remain the correct instruments for Zone deployment.
The field team is prepared for continued operations.
Awaiting further instructions, revised objectives, and corporate tasking.
